2. General information
This privacy policy informs you which personal data we process when you visit and use this website, for what purpose and on what basis. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). We process only as much data as necessary and keep it only for as long as required for the purpose in question or by law.
3. Accessing the website (server logs)
When you access this website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data transmitted by your browser (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, browser used). This data serves the secure and stable operation of the website and is deleted or anonymised after a short time. Our website is hosted by a provider in Switzerland (Swizzonic AG, Zurich). The data is processed on servers in Switzerland.
4. Contacting us
If you contact us via the contact form or by email (info@mentecanina.ch), we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, content of the message) in order to handle and answer your enquiry. We do not pass this data on to third parties and keep it only for as long as necessary to deal with your request.
5. Member account and subscription
To take out a subscription, you set up a user account. In doing so, we process the data necessary to perform the contract, in particular name, email address, billing address and the details of your subscription (plan, term, status). This processing is necessary to perform the contract with you. We keep invoices and payment records for ten years on the basis of the statutory retention obligation (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
6. Payment processing (Stripe)
Payments are processed by the payment service provider Stripe (Stripe, Inc., USA, or Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland). When you take out a subscription, the data required for payment (e.g. name, email address, card details) is transmitted directly to Stripe and processed there. We ourselves do not store complete credit card details. Data may also be transferred to countries outside Switzerland and the EU (in particular the USA). 7. Information about new issues (Swiss Newsletter)
We inform our subscribers, and people who have signed up for this, about new issues and important changes. To send these emails we use the Swiss service Swiss Newsletter, which processes the recipient data (name, email address) on servers in Switzerland. Sign-up uses the double opt-in procedure: after signing up you receive a confirmation email in which you must confirm your registration. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link at the end of every email or by sending a message to info@mentecanina.ch.
8. Cookies and local storage
This website uses only technically necessary cookies required for operation and for logging in to the member area. No cookies are used for analysis, tracking or advertising purposes.
The dog food calculator stores your entries in your browser’s local storage so that they are available again on your next visit. This covers the details of your dog, the label values you typed in, the food list, the language selected and your confirmation of the legal notice. This data stays on your device and is transmitted neither to us nor to third parties. You can refuse this storage or delete the data by blocking or removing the site data for mentecanina.ch in your browser. The calculator can also be used without storage.
9. No analysis or tracking services
We do not use any web analytics services (such as Google Analytics) or any tracking or advertising tools.
10. Fonts (Google Fonts)
For the typeface “Playfair Display”, this website loads font files via the Google Fonts service. The provider is Google (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, or Google LLC, USA). When you open a page, your browser loads the font from Google’s servers. For technical reasons, Google thereby learns your IP address and details of your browser. This data may also be transferred to countries outside Switzerland and the EU (in particular the USA). We ourselves receive no data about your visit from Google. 11. Disclosure to third parties
Your data is passed on to third parties only where this is necessary to perform the contract (in particular to the service providers Stripe and Swiss Newsletter named above), when the fonts are loaded from Google (section 10), or where we are legally obliged to do so. Personal data is not sold.
12. Your rights
Within the framework of the applicable data protection law, you have the right to information about the personal data we process, to have incorrect data corrected and to have data deleted, provided no statutory retention obligation prevents this.
